Surrendering Control

Devotional
One of our greatest struggles is the desire to maintain control over our lives. We want to determine our path, secure our future, and ensure our success. Yet Jesus showed us a different way. When tempted with power over all the kingdoms of the world, He demonstrated that true strength lies in submission to God’s will. Instead of grasping for control, Jesus modeled perfect trust in God’s plan. This challenges us to examine our own tendency to grip tightly to control. Are we willing to open our hands and trust God’s leadership in our lives?

Bible Verse
“For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'” – Romans 10:13

Reflection Question
What areas of your life are you finding it hardest to surrender to God’s control?

Quote
Our Lord did not grasp on his own authority, his own fulfillment, his own security, but instead grasps the Word of God.

Prayer
Father, we confess our tendency to want control over every aspect of our lives. Help us trust You more fully and find peace in surrendering to Your perfect will. Guide us in releasing our grip on things we were never meant to control. Amen.
