The Great Equalizer

Devotional
Sin has a way of making us feel different from others. We often categorize sins, thinking some are worse than others. We might look at someone else’s struggles and think, ‘At least I’m not like that.’ But this comparison game misses God’s perspective entirely. In His eyes, sin is sin – no better, no worse. This truth isn’t meant to condemn us but to humble us and help us understand our shared need for grace. When we realize this, we can extend to others the same mercy we’ve received.

Bible Verse
“Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.” – Luke 13:1

Reflection Question
How does understanding that all sin is equal before God change your view of others who struggle differently than you do?

Quote
In God’s eyes, it all looks the same, it all stinks, and it all deserves punishment.

Prayer
God, thank You for showing me that Your grace is sufficient for all sin. Help me extend that same grace to others, remembering that we all need Your mercy equally. Amen.
