Devotional
Have you ever caught yourself thinking you deserve better because you try to live a good life? It’s a common thought – we want to believe our good actions should earn us good outcomes. However, this mindset misses the heart of God’s grace. His love isn’t a reward for good behavior; it’s a gift freely given. When we grasp this truth, it transforms how we view both our successes and failures. We no longer need to maintain a spiritual scorecard because God’s love isn’t based on our performance.
Bible Verse
“For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.” – 1 Corinthians 10:1
Reflection Question
What areas of your life are you still trying to earn God’s love rather than simply receiving it?
Quote
If we do these things to make a name for ourselves, well, then we’re certainly going to get what we deserve.
Prayer
Father, thank You for loving me not because of what I’ve done, but because of who You are. Help me rest in Your unconditional love today. Amen.
